Rev. Derrick A. Scobey
Senior Pastor
Ebenezer Baptist Church
Pastor Scobey was born in Northeast Oklahoma City in 1967. He graduated from Douglass High School in 1985. In 1996, God led Pastor Scobey to relocate to the DFW Metroplex where things moved very quickly for him. Throughout the next 12 years, Pastor Scobey managed and grew multiple sales organizations.
In March 1996, after being witnessed to by a friend, Pastor Scobey, alone in his apartment, knelt and prayed to receive Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. In 1997, he accepted his call to the Gospel ministry. In 2009, he planted a church in McKinney, Texas, with a focus on cultural diversity. By 2012, Pastor Scobey was selected to be the Senior Teaching Pastor & Pastor of Multi-Cultural Engagement at the 5,000-member First Baptist Church (FBC) in McKinney, Texas. Under his leadership, he grew FBC's Restoration Venue from approximately 100 to 700 weekly attendees. On June 22, 2015, God called Pastor Scobey to return to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and lead the Ebenezer Baptist Church (EBC).
In less than seven years, under Pastor Scobey's leadership, EBC has become a thriving church, has tripled in size and developed strong partnerships with business leaders, non-profit organizations, community organizers and politicians to leverage social, political, and economic capital to serve vulnerable communities across Oklahoma.
Presently, Pastor Scobey collaborates with World Vision to launch food drives, furniture and school supplies giveaways. In conjunction with the OKC-County Health Department, he and EBC members host vaccination clinics for Oklahoma residents.
Pastor Scobey is married to First Lady Angela Bush Scobey. Together, they have five children. They are blessed to be the grandparents of identical triplet granddaughters.
